Geotechnical Engineering Services
Water Line Extension along FM 270
League City, Texas

AEC performed the geotechnical investigation for the proposed 12-inch waterline along South FM 270 from East Strawberry Street to SH 96 in League City. The project includes approximately 1,670 linear feet of 12 inch diameter waterline with depths that range from 8 to 10 feet below existing grade. The waterline will primarily be installed using open cut method. The geotechnical scope consists of drilling soil borings, soil laboratory testing, ground water monitoring, and geotechnical recommendations for installation of underground utilities by open cut method.
Horsepen Gully Lift Station and Control Building
Webster, Texas

AEC is performing the geotechnical investigation for the proposed 20-foot diameter lift station which will be approximately 65 feet deep. AEC is analyzing field and laboratory data to develop geotechnical engineering recommendations for (i) feasible foundation and allowable bearing capacities for the proposed lift station; (ii) design soil parameters for lateral earth pressure, and uplift resistance for the caisson walls of the lift station; (iii) foundation type and depth, allowable bearing capacities, floor slab and subgrade preparation for the control buildings; and (iv) dewatering guidelines and construction recommendation for the lift station and control building foundations.
Cedar Bayou Road Lift Station Improvements
Baytown, Texas

AEC performed the geotechnical investigation for the proposed Cedar Bayou Road lift station located south of Cedar Bayou Road and east of Kilgore Road/E. Elvinta St. in City of Baytown. The proposed facility improvements include: (i) a second wet well for the existing lift station, with a 16.5-foot internal diameter (I.D.), approximately 35-foot deep; (ii) associated 20-, 24- and 36-inch diameter sanitary sewer; (iii) slab-on-grade foundations for generator, control panel, valve, odor control scrubber; and, (iv) Portland cement concrete (PCC) and asphaltic concrete (AC) pavements for access road and driveway. The scope of AEC's investigation was to evaluate general subsurface soil and groundwater conditions, and provide geotechnical recommendations for the proposed improvements.

Construction Materials Testing/Inspection Projects
Southmore Avenue from Approximately 500' East of Johnson Street to 500' East of Strawberry Road
Pasadena, Texas

AEC is the sole service provider for construction materials testing on this project for Harris County Public Infrastructure Department. The project involves the reconstruction of Southmore Avenue. Improvements consist of a five-lane undivided roadway, replacing existing drainage system with a curb and gutter system, and replacing certain segments of the sanitary sewer and water line. The proposed pavement for the project is 10" thick (33,555 square yards) with a 6" thick lime stabilized subgrade. AEC completed sampling and testing of each material throughout the project and provided timely reports to the client. The job was completed within the budget established for the project.
Pavement Repair & Asphalt Overlay on Southmore from Little Vince Bayou to Red Bluff
Pasadena, Texas

AEC is the sole service provider for construction materials testing on this project for the City of Pasadena. The project involves the reconstruction of Southmore Avenue. AEC completed sampling and testing of asphalt overlay, replacement of curb and gutter and some concrete pavement repair.
Pelican Island 20" Water Line Along Seawolf Parkway, Easement and Holiday Drive from Bradner to UTMB Elevated Storage Tank
Galvestone, Texas

AEC is the sole service provider for construction materials testing on this project for the City of Galveston. Project involves construction of a 20 inch waterline from Texas A&M Galveston Campus on Pelican Island along Seawolf Parkway to the UTMB elevated water tank. The waterline allows for adequate potable water service and fire protection to both Pelican Island and UTMB. AEC is providing construction materials testing and inspection for waterlines, sanitary and storm sewer, paving and underground utilities. This project is funded by the General Land Office through the Community Development Block Grant Program.
Galveston State Park Renovation
Galvestone, Texas

AEC was the sole service provider for construction materials testing on this project for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. AEC is furnishing construction materials testing and inspection to assist with repairs of the park damaged by Hurricane Ike. New buildings for park headquarters, maintenance, staff residences, historic Stewart House, rest room, camping shelters, concrete and asphalt, asphalt paving repairs. AEC is providing construction materials testing and inspection for concrete, masonry and structural steel inspections (bolting and welding).
SH 6 Intersection Improvements
Missouri City, Texas

AEC was the sole service provider for construction materials testing on this project for the City of Missouri City. AEC provided construction materials testing services for this project from along State Highway 6 from Lake Olympia Parkway to Lake Shore Harbor Blvd. The project includes the pavement widening, installation of directional islands, curb, sidewalk, utilities, traffic signals, and crosswalks. Construction Materials Testing and Inspection Services included field and laboratory work for embankment and backfill materials, subgrade for sidewalk, lime stabilized subgrade, and cement treated base, 13" and 10" fast track concrete, 7" and 10" pavement, 6" curb (mono and doweled), curb ramp, concrete directional islands, driveways, sidewalk, and traffic signal foundations.
Steinman Lift Station and Force Main Upgrade
Baytown, Texas

AEC was the sole service provider for construction materials testing on this project for the City of Baytown, Department of Engineering. Upgrade of the Steinman Lift Station and Force Main to eliminate the wastewater overflows that result for inflow and infiltration and the deteriorated condition of the facility. Construction Materials Testing and Inspection Services include inspection and testing on soils, concrete and asphalt. Work included approximately 7400 ft. of open cut force main, new drywell and elevated generator structure at Lift Station and Access Road. Concrete, soils and asphalt testing was performed in accordance with City of Baytown standard specifications. AEC was awarded three City of Baytown CDBG Non-Housing Wastewater Emergency Power Projects involving construction of Auxiliary Pumps, Lift Stations and Generators.

Midtown Redevelopment - Bagby St. Reconstruction
Houston, Texas

Geotechnical(GEO) - AEC performed the geotechnical investigation for reconstruction of Bagby St. between St. Joseph Parkway and Tuam St. The project included (i)installation of 60 inch diameter storm sewers, 12 inch diameter sanitary sewers, and 12 inch diameter water lines by open cut method;(ii) installation of a 4 by 2 foot storm sewer box culvert by tunnel method;(iii) reconstruction of Bagby St. and Pierce St. with new concrete pavement; and (iv) installation of 16 foot high light poles along the alignments. The geotechnical scope consisted of drilling soil borings, soil laboratory testing, ground water monitoring, geotechnical recommendations for installation of underground utilities by open cut and tunnel method, concrete pavement thickness and subgrade stabilization, and light pole foundations. Construction Materials Testing(CMT) - AEC is performing construction materials testing and inspection for the project which includes underground utilities, stabilized subgrades and concrete paving.
